Calle 13 has never been one to remain silent on societal issues.
They’ve spoken out about everything from human trafficking to politics to education, and some of their best work is heavily laden with sharp (and piercing) opinion.
And now it looks as though education is going to get a boost thanks to the Latin-Grammy winning alt-hip-hop group.

Calle 13 is standing up against global gun violence in their latest single, “La Bala” off of their fourth studio album, Entren Los Que Quieran. The proactive video directed by Simon Brand depicts the dangerous domino effect weapons can create in communities everywhere. Nine videographers from countries ranging from Argentina to Mexico also took part in the project in a joint venture for UNICEF.

Calle 13 rapper René Pérez Joglar's uncle, Roberto Joglar Rios (aka Tito), was shot to death in Puerto Rico on Thursday night. According to reports, the 49-year-old was murdered in front of a school in the island’s capital of San Juan. As of now, the perpetrator of the crime has not been identified, but the case is being investigated by the city's law enforcement.
