After watching Karen Olivo take home a Tony for her role in the Broadway revival of West Side Story, and hearing all of the buzz surroudning the play, I decided I had to check it out. After watching the show, which opened in March and can currently be seen at NYC's Palace Theatre, I was left wondering why 91-year-old American playwright and director Arthur Laurents revived this play if nothing new was going to come of it.

Both actresses donned white dresses with festive beading—perfect for the holidays—and braved the cold with stylish black coats draped just so. The only difference was in their makeup and accessories. Cameron used pops of red for dramatic effect, while América went with loose locks and black pointed-toe kitten heels.

New York native Lin-Manuel Miranda had much to celebrate at the Tony Awards as he accepted the prizes for both Best Musical and most memorably, Best Score for his show In The Heights. Having written both the music and the lyrics of this play about the Latino neighborhood of Washington Heights where he was raised when he was just a sophomore at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, Lin-Manuel was living his dream just by attending the Tony Awards.
