The Tony Awards nominations were announced today, and we admit we're a bit bummed that no Latinos were nominated this year (except of course the superbly talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, a previous Tony winner who wrote the music for this year's hit Broadway musical Bring It On: The Musical, which was nominated for Best Musical). Congrats to Miranda!

We're so happy! The nominees for the 19th Annual SAG Awards for stellar performances in 2012 have been announced, and many Latinos were recognized for their achievements.
Sofia Vergara snagged two nominations for her role as the hilariously loud Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on ABC’s Modern Family.
The Colombian actress was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series and for the broader Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, which lists her fellow castmates.

Paz de la Huerta who played Lucy Danzinger on HBO’s wildly popular Boardwalk Empire will not be returning for a third season according to TVLine.com. The last fans saw of De la Huerta’s character she left her new baby in the care of the baby’s father Van Alden (Michael Shannon) to get formula and cigarettes. She never returned and apparently she never will.
