Since I’ve announced my wedding date, the amount of people who have offered to help in the process has been incredible. It’s been very telling of how much love we have around us, which makes me confident in knowing our day will be special because it will be filled with people who truly wish us well. Among these great people are many women – women that I love from all aspects of mine and Hector’s life. I have close cousins, childhood friends, adult life-long friends, and a sister of my own, not to mention all these types of women in Hector’s life as well.

Sigh. I still remember the first time I came across those words back in middle school. Miss Toranzos (I think she’s on Facebook now!) made each one of us learn Neruda’s “Poema 20″ in its entirety and then recite it in front of the whole class. Of course the boys all made fun of the girls because, well, little did they know they too would be vulnerable one day.

I can’t stop grinning. My head is in the clouds. I keep playing Boyz II Men tunes on my iPod. The truth is, I have a ridiculous crush!
I didn’t see this coming. I never thought I would ever kiss Sam. The first time he asked me out I declined his offer. But he was persistent and asked me out again to the Jay-Z/Mary J. Blige concert. How could I say no to that?
