Movie Review: "The Wolfman"

The Wolfman is not a film for the faint of heart. I jumped out of my seat no less than five times and may have even stifled a scream or two while watching Benicio del Toro's 21st century update of Lon Chaney's 1941 original. This aint your grandma's schlocky horror film, it is downright scary.

Benicio del Toro Urges PR Governor to Stop Monkey-Breeding Facility

Actor Benicio del Toro wrote a letter to Puerto Rico Governor Luis Fortuño, asking him to halt the construction of a massive monkey-breeding facility in Guayama, Puerto Rico. The Oscar winner is referring to Bioculture, a company that supplies primates to laboratories. They essentially capture monkeys from their homes in Mauritius, hold them captive in Puerto Rico and sell thousands of their babies for use in painful and deadly experiments.

Benicio del Toro Honored in Cuba

Che actor Benicio del Toro was celebrated in Cuba last week for his distinguished body of work. The Puerto Rican star was given the first Tomas Gutierrez Alea award (named after the late Cuban director) by the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, or Uneac. "It's an honor. I share this with all the artists here. As an artist, I feel that we're all in the same boat," Del Toro said after accepting his honor.

Benicio del Toro Takes on Role as Drama Teacher for Puerto Rican Inmates

Oscar-winning actor Benicio del Toro offered tips and encouragement to a group of jailed theater-lovers at a Puerto Rican prison on Monday.

The boricua actor interrupted his vacation on the Isla del Encanto for a talk at Bayamon Regional Prison just outside the island's capital of San Juan. Del Toro spoke to the inmates, emphasizing the importance of literacy to their rehabilitation, and explained how reading has been crucial to his own growth as an actor.
