At yesterday’s airing of the 2011 Do Something! Awards, Demi Lovato gave viewers a spine-tingling performance. For the first time ever on television, the 18-year-old actress/singer performed her hit single “Skyscraper,” which earned the number one spot on iTunes earlier this summer following its release.
Dressed in a beige dress with silver accents, Lovato’s performance brought audience members to their feet.

The hottest table in New York City belongs to Mexican-born chef Cesar Ramirez, formerly the Executive Chef of famed restaurant Bouley. Ramirez, 40, was recently awarded two Michelin Stars for his 18-seat chef’s table at Brooklyn Fare—as if it wasn’t already tough to get a reservation! Getting awarded any stars in the Michelin Guide is a huge deal. It’s the oldest and most respected guide to fine dining in the world. Roberto Bolaño was posthumously awarded recently when his critically acclaimed novel 2666 won the fiction prize at the National Book Critics Circle, an honor bestowed last year upon Dominican author Junot Diaz for The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. Although Bolaño died in 2003, his translator, Natasha Wimmer, accepted the award on his behalf, recalling a time when the author once said that "posthumous" sounded like a Roman gladiator.

We all know Salma and Penélope are besties for life, but it is really cool how much they give each other props! Salma, speaking on her amigas chances of Academy Award glory said, "I am sure that she will win the Oscar this year." Agreed, Salma. Cruz's performance in Vicky Cristina Barcelona was amazing and she has swept every award she has been nominated for thus far so that is a pretty accurate prediction if you ask us.

A year or two ago you would have been hard pressed to find many people who knew who Demi Lovato and Tristan Wilds were. But the songstress and the actor have been putting in overtime the last few months and it seems as though their hard work has finally paid off. Demi nabbed the No. 2 spot while Tristan made an appearance at No. 6 on Entertainment Weekly's list of Top 10 Breakout Stars of 2008.
