Gatti's Wife Released from Jail, Boxer's Death Ruled a Suicide

On Thursday, the wife of boxer Arturo Gatti, 23-year-old Amanda Rodrigues,
was released from a Brazilian prison after facing accusations that she
had murdered her husband with her purse strap. Lead investigator Paulo
Alberes told the press that authorities concluded that Gatti had
committed suicide on July 11 while vacationing at a seaside resort
with his wife in northeastern Brazil.

Arturo Gatti May Have Committed Suicide

An autopsy performed on recently deceased boxing star Arturo Gatti's body indicates that the former champ may have committed suicide. Gatti's body was found in the apartment he had rented out in the seaside resort town of Porto de Galinhas, in northeastern Brazil. He and his wife were on vacation for a second honeymoon in an attempt to repair what all who knew the couple have called a "troubled" relationship.

Police Detain Arturo Gatti's Brazilian Wife in Mysterious Death of Boxing Legend

Thirty-seven-year-old Canadian boxing legend Arturo "Thunder" Gatti was found strangled to death over the weekend while vacationing at a luxurious Brazilian beach resort. The police have charged his wife, Amanda Carine Barbosa Rodrigues, with his murder, alleging that she used her purse strap to asphyxiate her husband.
