Ariel Castro -- the former school bus driver who held three young women for over a decade in his home -- has been formally sentenced to life without parole, plus an additional 1,000 years.
According to The New York Times, Castro pleaded guilty today to more than 900 counts, including aggravated murder, kidnapping and rape, after imprisoning three women in his west Cleveland house.

Ariel Castro accepted a plea deal this morning.
According to CNN, Castro's deal would provide him with the chance avoid the possibility of a death sentence and spare his alleged victims from having to testify at a trial.
The plea deal states that Castro would be sentenced to life in jail without parole, plus 1,000 years.

Ariel Castro, the Celeveland man accused of holding three young women captive in his home for over a decade, was arraigned on Wednesday with an extensive additional amount of charges.
According to Fox News Latino, the 53-year-old is now facing a 977 count indictment which includes 512 counts of kidnapping and 446 counts of rape. Castro has pleaded not guilty to all counts.

The man accused of holding three women against their will for almost 10 years has been indicted on 329 counts including kidnapping, rape and murder for allegedly forcing one of the women to abort her own children.
A Cuyahoga County, OH jury indicted Ariel Castro on Friday. Castro’s attorneys have said he will plead not guilty to the charges being brought against him.

The attorneys for Ariel Castro, the 52-year-old suspect accused of kidnapping and raping three Cleveland women and holding them in captivity for nearly a decade, will plead not guilty, reports the AP. Castro was charged for four counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape, for abducting Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina DeJesus. He is currently being held on $8 million bail.

Two of the three brothers, Onil Castro, 50, and Pedro Castro, 54, suspected of the kidnap and rape of three women have been released. Ariel Castro, 52, admitted to acting alone in the crime, which included a 10-year rape and torture of Amanda Berry, 27, Gina DeJesus, 23, and Michelle Knight, 32. The Puerto Rican suspect is facing four charges of kidnap, one for each woman and the 6-year-old child whom he fathered with Berry. He was also charged with three counts of rape.
