Antonio Banderas is excited for fans to see The 33 -- a movie based on the Chilean miners who were trapped underground for over two months in 2010, which Banderas says taught the world a huge lesson.
On Friday he and other cast members, including Rodrigo Santoro, met with the miners and Chilean leader Sebastian Pinera at the presidential palace.

Spanish actor Antonio Banderas recently spoke about his upcoming film The 33 and how it has caused him to reflect on life and humanity.
The movie will document the Chilean mining accident of 2010. For nearly two months, 33 miners were trapped in the San Jose Mine. The mineshaft where the men were stuck is about 622 meters (or 2,039 feet) deep.

According to Fox News Latino, the American Idol judge has decided to drop out of the movie, The 33, a film about the dramatic survival of miners trapped underground for over two months in a mine in northern Chile.

Deadline reports that the Spanish actor is set to play Mario Sepúlveda, who became the public face of the 33 miners, who were trapped underground for a total of 69 days.
