Eva Mendes (and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association) isn't the only one who loves Kate Winslet. Disney starlet Selena Gomez revealed her girl crush on the English actress to Us Weekly recently, saying she hopes Winslet will take home an Oscar for her turn in Revolutionary Road.

Kate Winslet is a dream crusher! Just kidding (ish), but the English actress definitely delivered a sad blow to our Oscar hopes last night with her double win at the 2009 Golden Globes. Winslet beat out Penelope Cruz early in the night, taking home the Best Supporting Actress prize for her role in the little-seen The Reader. Then, she shocked everyone by winning the Best Actress award over Anne Hathaway for her performance in Revolutionary Road, the drama period piece in which she plays opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Penelope Cruz Oscar race just got a little murkier. At the Critic's Choice Awards last night in Santa Monica, the actress actually lost an award...*sniffle*...in the Best Supporting Actress category. The honors went to Kate Winslet instead, for her role in a little flick no one saw called The Reader. Luckily for Kate, we love her as much as Eva Mendes does, so we won't hold any grudges.

The Screen Actors Guild Award nominations were announced this morning, and we'd like to say felicidades to America Ferrera, who will vie for Oustanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series. The Ugly Betty star won the award in 2007 but lost to 30 Rock's Tina Fey this year, so expect a showdown between these TV divas when the awards air on January 25! Or maybe not, since neither of them is particularly diva-like, and everyone and their dog is obsessed with Tina this year...but here's hoping anyway.

The good news keeps coming for Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which scored four nominations today for the 2009 Golden Globes. The quirky little movie about travel, art, polyamory and hot sexy Spaniards was nominated for Best Feature - Comedy, while Javier Bardem picked up a nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical and Rebecca Hall for Best Actress. Winners won't be announced until the show goes down on January 11 in Beverly Hills and airs live on NBC.

Today in Penelope Cruz Oscar buzz, Pé scores two more Best Supporting Actress nods for her performance in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, officially making her the indisputable frontrunner for Oscar glory! The Spanish star was chosen as this year's best by the Los Angeles Film Critics Assocation, while the Broadcast Film Critics Association selected her along with four other nominees--Kate Winslet, Marisa Tomei, Vera Farmiga and Viola Davis.
