Salud! 17 Valentine's Day Cocktails For One Sexy Night

Romance está en el aire! This Valentine's Day, whether you're hanging out at home con tu amor or going out for a special night on the town, jazz up your night with a pretty (and romantic) cocktail that'll have you feeling the love (and the buzz). We have some amazing suggestions for you!

1. Blushing Maria

A fizzy tequila-based cocktail is sure to set the mood. Blushing Maria, anyone?

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 oz. Casa Noble Crystal
  • 1 oz. Pomegranate juice
  • 1 oz. Pink grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 oz. Agave Nectar

Preparation:

Combine the tequila, juices and agave nectar in a shaker tin with ice and shake until chilled. Strain and serve in Champagne flute; top with rose sparking wine.         


2. The Heartbreaker

Break hearts with this aptly named cocktail, The Heartbreaker. The mixture of black and white peach tea is sure to refresh your mood amid this wintry weather (and the Avión Reposado Tequila too, of course).  

Here's what you'll need:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Avión Reposado
  • 3/4 oz. Black Peach Tea
  • 1/4 oz. White Peach Puree
  • 1/4 oz. Lemon Juice
  • 3/4 oz. Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 oz. Cranberry Juice
  • 3 Blackberries
  • 1 Blackberry and Lemon Wheel for garnish

Prepartation:

Muddle blackberries and brown sugar in shaker. Add all ingredients and shake. Double strain and pour into a glass over ice. Garnish with 1 blackberry and a lemon wheel.

 


3. Lovestruck

The Lovestruck is served at The Wayfarer in NYC, but we've got the amazing recipe straight from their bartender for you to recreate it at home.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 5 oz. Perrier Jouet champagne
  • 1 oz. St. Germain

Preparation:
Garnish with an edible flower petal and a lemon twist. Serve in a coupe glass or champagne flute.


4. Rose Martini

Bouquet of roses a little too cliché for your liking? Take roses up a notch with this Rose Martini. It will be featured on Arrecifes' (the restaurant at The Westin Resort and Spa, Los Cabos) Valentine's Day Menu. So you can totally pretend you're in Mexico con tu amor with this yummy cocktail Friday night.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 oz Vodka
  • .5 oz Cassis Liqueur
  • .5 oz cranberry juice
  • Splash of club soda

Preparation:

In a shaker combine vodka, cranberry juice and cassis. Add ice and shake. Pour a splash of club soda into a chilled cocktail glass. Fine strain the contents of the shaker into the glass, over the soda.


5. Crème de Vanilla

Sweeten up the Valentine's Day mood with this creamy and deliciously romantic cocktail, Crème de Vanilla, created by Mixologist Franky Marshall of Clover Club. 

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 1/2 oz. SKYY Infusions Vanilla Bean
  • 1/2 oz. White Creme de Cacao
  • 1/2 oz. Stumptown Cold Brew Coffee
  • 3/4 oz. Half and Half Cream
  • 1/2 oz. Cinnamon Syrup
  • Milk Chocolate Shavings
  • 2 Vanilla Beans

Preparation:

Pour all ingredients into a small tin, and fill up 3/4 of the tin with pillow ice. Blend on Medium-High for approximately 16-20 seconds. Then pour into small snifter. Garnish with milk chocolate shavings and vanilla beans.

6. Sangria Sparkler

Just the name Sangria Sparkler makes us want a sip of this. Ice tea (Lipton, anyone?), grape juice and fresh fruit combine to make this delish drink. Take a walk on the refreshing side this Valentine's Day with this Sangria Sparkler.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 1/2 cup Lipton® Lemon Sweetened Iced Tea Mix
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 2 cups chilled grape juice
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 lime, sliced
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 peach [or nectarine ], cut into chunks
  • 2 cups chilled club soda

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients except soda in large pitcher; chill. Just before serving, add soda.

 


7. Je t'adore

Spyglass Mixologist Joe Goglia created this Je t'adore cocktail, so you're sure to end the night on a sweet note.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 5 oz. Prosecco
  • .5 oz. Combier Rose Liqueur
  • .25 oz. Grenadine             

Preparation:
Serve in a champagne flute. Garnish with a watermelon cube.


8. LULU's Love Potion

Who needs love potion #9 when you've got LULU's Love Potion from Hoboken, New Jersey's newest hotspot. 

To make it at home, here's what you'll need:

  • 1 oz. Belvedere Vodka
  • 2 oz. Moet Rose Champagne
  • 1 oz. Strawberry Purée
  • 1/2 oz. Agave

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in acocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with rock candy.


9. Mole y Avión Espresso

Whoa whoa whoa — an espresso cocktail? That's right chicas! This is a whole new take on café con leche. No matter what your plans are this Valentine's Day, re-energize with some Mole y Avión Espresso.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 oz. Avión Espresso
  • 1 oz. Premium Hot Chocolate
  • Fresh Whipped Cream and Mint Leaf for garnish

Preparation:

Combine ingredients in glass and heat. Garnish with fresh whipped cream and a mint leaf.


10. Lover's Paradise

Lover's Paradise is surely filled with lots of chocolate, especially on Valentine's Day. So why not pair this cocktail featuring Godiva Chocolate Liquer with a box of chocolates for a decadently sweet Valentine's Day? 

Here's what you'll need:

  • 1 ½ oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
  • 1 ½ oz Frangelico
  • ½ oz Dry White Rum

Preparation:

Chocolate shavings (garnish): Carefully draw a vegetable peeler across the broad surface of a bar of semisweet or milk chocolate. This works best if the chocolate is at room temperature. For narrower curls, use the side of the bar.

In a cheater tin, add Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, Frangelico and White Rum. Fill the cheater tin halfway with ice and shake for about 8 seconds. Strain the cocktail into a coupe and garnish with chocolate shavings. Serve.

 


11. The Pavan Rouge

When we think of Valentine's Day, we think of the color red. That's exactly what this cocktail — The Pavan Rouge — gives us. Its luscious red color screams, "Romantic!" making it perfect for V-Day. 

Here's what you'll need:

  • 1 part pavan
  • 1 part vodka or gin
  • 1 part lemon juice
  • 1 part sparkling rosé (preferably prosecco)
  • 1/2 part thyme honey syrup
  • 5 raspberries

Preparation:

Thyme honey syrup:

In a sauce pan or small pot, add:

  • 3-4 grams of thyme (aprox 6 full big sprigs)
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup water

Add all ingredients, excluding the sparkling rose, to a blender. Blend for 30 seconds. Strain through tea strainer (fine strainer) into a double rocks glass that already has the sparkling rose. Garnish with 2 raspberries and 2 small thyme sprigs.

12. Te Amo

When you're whispering "Te amo" in your beau's ear this Valentine's Day, make sure they have a glass of Te Amo in their hand. It's a sexy blend of tequila and everyone's favorite choco mil. So, why not serve your love?

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 parts Sauza® Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
  • 1 part DeKuyper® Razzmatazz
  • 6 parts chocolate milk
  • 2 dashes of Taza Chocolate Mexicano Extract
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish
  • Raspberries for garnish

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain the mixture into two martini glasses rimmed with chocolate shavings. Garnish with raspberries.

13. Potion for Seduction

Seduce your Valentine with this sweet (with a twist!) Potion for Seduction. It's currently being featured at La Concha Resort in San Juan, Puerto Rico. But if Puerto Rico is too far away - make it at home for tu amor!

Here's what you'll need:

  •  1 ounce Citron vodka 
  • ½ oz Peach schnapps
  •  ½ oz Chambord
  • 2 ounces Cranberry juice
  • 1 ounce Lime juice

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients and shake. Serve and enjoy!

14. Be My Valen-Thyme

Will you be our Valen-Thyme? Really, though, this cocktail is garnished with a thyme sprig.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 1.5 oz Hennessy V.S
  • .5 oz Apricot Liqueur
  • .25 oz Yellow Chartreuse
  •  3 dashes Paychaud bitters
  •  Lemon twist
  • Thyme sprig

Preparation:

Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice, shake untill well chilled. Strain into a rocks glass with a large ice cube. For garnish, twist a lemon over the glass and discard, garnish with a sprig of thyme.

15. Strawberry Seduction

In the mood for some strawberry shortcake post-Valentine's dinner? Mix up this Strawberry Seduction with Pinnacle Strawberry Shortcake Vodka (um, yum!) to satisfy that sweet craving.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 parts Pinnacle® Strawberry Shortcake Vodka
  • 1 part DeKuyper® Pucker® Strawberry Schnapps
  • 2 part Cranberry Juice
  • 1 part Half & Half

Preparation:

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Rim glass with crushed peppermint.

16. Ketel One Cupid's Cosmo

Cupid has more than an arrow to strike this Valentine's Day — he has a cocktail featuring Ketel One Citroen! 

To make Cupid's Cosmo, here's what you'll need:

  • 1 1/2 oz. Ketel One Citroen
  • 3/4 oz. cranberry juice
  • 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 oz. simple syrup

Preparation:

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

17. Love Bubbles

  • 3 parts Malibu Rum Sparkler
