Creamy Garlicky Mash Potatoes

INGREDIENTS

6 medium-size potatoes, peeled and quartered

6 cups water

4 cloves garlic, peeled

2 bay leaves

1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk

1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter

1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

1/4 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg

PREPARATION

Bring potatoes to boil in water with garlic and bay leaves. Reduce heat to low simmer, cover, and cook until potatoes are tender. Remove bay leaves. Drain liquid. Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Over medium heat blend mixture until smooth and fluffy.


 



Transfer mixture to serving bowl. Sprinkle with freshly grated nutmeg. Makes 8 servings.
