Sonia Sotomayor appointed to Supreme Court after ‘wise Latina’ remark

Sotomayor once said that she believed a wise Latina could be a better judge than a white man and during her Senate confirmation hearings, it came back to bite her, though not very hard, as the term became a slogan for Latinas everywhere and Sotomayor became the first Hispanic on the highest court.
