Pop Culture: Selena Murdered

Selena murdered in Texas

The Tejano singer seemed to have it all: A solid career in the Southwest and a crossover pop CD destined to make her a mainstream star. But that all ended when the president of her fan club, Yolanda Saldivar, whom Selena had confronted about missing money, pulled a gun and shot her, destroying her aorta and causing her to bleed to death before paramedics could save her. The crime made international headlines and captivated the country as many thousands attended memorial services and mourned openly.

She's a pop culture junkie who watches way too much television, and she still hoards magazines.
