The era of mean-spirited celeb blog coverage reached its height when Perez, aka Mario Lavandeira started Perezhilton.com, complete with upskirt pix, gay celeb outings, obscene drawings and verbal insults. Everyone complained how terrible he was, but everyone clicked on the website and stayed there for hours at a time, turning Perez into a feared and powerful force in Hollywood.
