Pop Culture: Christina Aguilera on SNL

Christina Aguilera as Sex and the City’s “Samantha” on SNL
Christina Aguilera
received rave reviews when she hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time ever On February 21, 2004. Aguilera, who had previously served as a musical guest on the sketch comedy program, showcased her own comedic skills in several skits throughout the day, including playing a Telemundo anchor woman. But it was Aguilera’s spot-on impersonation of Kim Cattral’s Sex and The City character Samantha Jones that received the most laughs. In the skit, Aguilera’s uncanny depiction of Samantha resulted in massive laughs, especially when the man-hungry Samantha proclaims that she’s a “dude” in the skit.
