Pop Culture: Avatar

Avatar Becomes the Highest Grossing Movie of All-Time (Because of Zoe)
Talk about a Titanic feat! On January 25, 2010, Avatar surpassed Titanic's worldwide gross to become the highest-grossing film of all time worldwide only 41 days after its international release. After all ticket stubs were counted, the film—starring Zoe Saldana as film's main Na'vi protagonist and love interest for Sam Worthington’s human character Jake—pocketed more than $2.7 billion dollars and become the highest-grossing film of all time in more than 30 countries. Now that’s Latina power!

Miranda Noland is the Senior Photo Editor for Latina.com. She handles all the photo needs for the site and occasionally writes a thing or two. Growing up in a small town in Missouri, she collected (and hoarded) magazines and dreamed of working at one someday. She studied art and design at Drury University and moved to New York City after graduating. She loves being an aunt to her two nephews and has recently moved to be closer to them. She's a pop culture junkie who watches way too much television, and she still hoards magazines.
