Despite being told there would only be a 45 percent chance of implant success, Julia Navarro chose to proceed with her decision to be a surrogate for her daughter and son-in-law.

According to El Diario, Navarro's daughter, Lorena McKinnon, was dealing with infertility problems but longed for a baby. McKinnon and her husband searched for suitable surrogates, but were unsuccessful. This is when Navarro, 58, decided to volunteer herself for the job.

Thanks to Navarro's offer, McKinnon and her husband not only saved themselves nearly half the cost of what a surrogate pregnancy costs, they are also now awaiting the birth of their first child who is due in February.
