This metallic hue with a hint of pink has been everywhere lately: on the runway, on the red carpet, and all over Pinterest. Makeup artists have been swapping basic gold for it’s prettier sister—rose—and we’ve rounded up some of the A-listers who’ve been wearing it the best.
Demi Lovato’s high-sheen peepers were accented with a dark bronze liner along the top and bottom lashline and finished with lots of black mascara. The rest of her makeup was kept simple, with just a bit of peachy blush on the apples of her cheeks and a nude lip. While yellow and brown-based gold eyes can handle a bold lip, a rose gold eye looks better when you keep the rest of the face neutral.
Adriana Lima also sported the on-trend color at a Victoria’s Secret event, opting for rose gold on her cheeks and eyes. To make her baby blues pop even more, Lima lined the waterline with jet black and flaunted a slightly dewy, pink pout.
Major Latino makeup artist, Rokael Lizama, works on just a few important celebs: the Kardashians, Adrienne Bailon, Christina Milian…and the eye look he created for Layla Kayleigh (above) is one of the best we’ve seen. Rose gold looks amazing in a matte or or glittery form, but this over-the-top glam eye takes things to the next level. To get her look, try Urban Decay’s Naked3 Palette, which incorporates 12 rose-hued neutrals in pale, shimmery, and glimmering metallic finishes. AKA the only eyeshadow palette you need to embrace spring’s hottest trend.
