Novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez Hospitalized

Colombian novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez has been hospitalized in Mexico City for an unknown illness.

According to TIME, federal health officials confirmed the news, but spoke on a condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information. El Heraldo reports that Marquez may suffer from pneumonia.

The 87-year-old Nobel Laureate is one of the most famous Spanish-language authors in history. He's penned dozens of novels, novellas, screenplays, and short stories in his impressive career. Most notably, he authored two acclaimed novels: Love In The Time of Cholera and One Hundred Years of Solitude. 

Our thoughts are with Marquez and his family right now! Let's hope for a speedy recovery.
