Hundreds gathered in Mexico City to page homage to the late Gabriel Garcia Marquez, who passed away on April 17.
According to Fox News Latino, Mexico's Jose Marti Cultural Center has begun screening various films based on the works of the late Colombian Nobel literature laureate.
"Mexico lost a great writer," the cultural center said. "Though of Colombian nationality, Gabriel Garcia Marquez was one of the favorite writers of this country, which he described as 'his other, different homeland.'"
The center launched its series on Friday with El Coronel no Tiene quien le Escriba (No One Writes to the Colonel), which stars Salma Hayek, and is set to end on May 23 with the showing of El Amor en los Tiempos del Colera (Love in the Time of Cholera).
