William Levy has been working hard on making his transition for telenovela hunk to Hollywood star.
The 33-year-old Cubano is starring opposite Zulay Henao in Tyler Perry's The Single Moms Club this month. Levy plays Manny, single mom Esperanza's (played by Henao) love interest.
According to The Huffington Post, during a recent interview Levy revealed that in order to prepare himself for the role, he drew from his own personal life experiences.
"I grew up with my single mom and never had a dad to look up to,” Levy told Efe news service. “Fortunately or unfortunately, that taught me some very good things and I learned what my kids need from me."
The Cuban actor also told Efe that his personal experience helped him see life from "the viewpoint of a single mom" who "doesn't have a man to protect her or help her out when she needs it."
