Eva Longoria and Michael Peña have landed their first ever Spanish speaking roles in the upcoming film, Frontera.
Set along the tumultuous Arizona-Mexico border, Frontera follows Miguel (played by Peña), a hardworking father and devoted husband who crosses the border illegally and is wrongfully accused of murdering the wife of a former sheriff (played by Ed Harris). After news hits home that Miguel has been arrested, his pregnant wife (played by Longoria) tries to help him but lands in the hands of corrupt Mexican “Coyote” smugglers.
The film examines the complex issues of immigration and human trafficking that deeply affects both the U.S. and Mexico. Frontera heads to theaters September 5 and iTunes & On Demand July 31.
