Disney Channel star Bella Thorne is heading to the silver screen in a spooky new role!
According to The Wrap, the 16-year-old actress will star in the latest franchise of the Amityville horror series. The movie centers on a mother, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, and her three children after they move into the haunted Amityville house. The flick, which is set to be directed by Franck Khalfoun, is titled The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes.
Thorne took to Instagram to share her excitement over the new role. "Then there's that," she posted, alongside a screenshot of The Wrap article. Later, she shared a sneak-peek of what her character will look like. She posted a picture in dramatic makeup and a cutoff tee with the snapshot, "Hair and makeup test #amityville."
The original Amityville Horror was released in 1979, and received a high-profile remake in 2005 that starred Ryan Reynolds and Chloe Moretz. The franchise is based on the book The Amityville Horror: A True Story by Jay Anson.
