Molotov has decided to drop an anti-gay slur from their song lyrics.
According to Huffington Post Latino Voices, the Mexican rock band issued a statement via Twitter this week that it would drop the word “maricón,” in light of a vicious attack against Chilean teen Esteban Navarro.
A group allegedly attacked the 19-year-old last month with a machete, iron bars, and knives. If that wasn’t horrendous enough, they also yelled anti-gay slurs at Navarro. As a result of the attack, the Chilean teen's leg was amputated.
In a written statement, Molotov shared details of the decision behind dropping the word.
