-Spanish baller Pau Gasol saved the game to secure a Los Angeles Lakers win over the Boston Celtics Thursday night. In the final moments of overtime Boston’s Ray Allen rebounded a shot that teammate Paul Pierce had rimmed out of the basket, and threw it up for the win, a win that Gasol ultimately denied them. The power forward blocked Allen’s shot just in the nick of time.

Latino Sports Daily: Gisele Bündchen Gets Apology from Giants Player

- Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen is back in the press regarding the remarks she made following the New England Patriots loss in Sunday’s Super Bowl, only this time it is a New York Giants player who is apologizing to her. Giants running back Brandon Jacobs apologized on The Doug Gottlieb Show Wednesday night for saying that Bündchen should “stay cute and shut up.”

Republicans Target Child Tax Break For Undocumented Immigrants, Refund Checks Averaging $1,800

In order to save money in the rough economy, Republicans are proposing denying child tax credits to undocumented immigrants. The plan would require parents looking to receive the tax credit to provide their Social Security number to receive the refund checks, which average about $1,800, ostracizing illegal workers. Were the proposal to go through, it would cut federal spending by approximately $10 billion over the course of 10 years. Needless to say Hispanics and some Democrats are enraged.

Mitt Romney took the most recent blow in the political battle brewing between him and fellow Republican Rick Santorum. On Tuesday a sizable portion of the Republican electorate in the states of Missouri, Minnesota and Colorado rejected Romney in favor of his competitor according to the Huffington Post.

-Carmelo Anthony could now be out of the New York Knicks line-up for 1-2 weeks according to ESPN after he suffered a strained groin in Monday’s win over the Utah Jazz. Though the team has gotten used to playing without the forward in a season riddled with injury, it doesn’t mean they do it well.
