I remember when I was a senior in high school, I didn’t want to go away to college because I had space issues, and the idea of sharing my room with a stranger totally freaked me out. But now I have the wonderful opportunity to study abroad in England, at the London College of Fashion. Space issues be damned!
I’m leaving on Monday and will be gone for a month, living in a house with “flatmates” and commuting on the “tube” (London’s subway). In addition to studying abroad, I have also landed an awesome internship in the PR department of Elemis, a skin-care company. This will be my first trip to the U.K. and I look forward to all the experiences that await me there.
While I’m in London, I plan on heading over to Europe to see Paris and hopefully Amsterdam and Barcelona. In the meantime, I’m frantically trying to pack a month’s worth of clothes for a place known for its fog and rain, but still make sure I'll look fashionably chic. This is no easy task, especially since I’m not one to pack light. I can't even contemplate the weight and travel restrictions with the airlines these days.
Preparing for this trip has been a little stressful to say this least, but I know it will all be worth it in the end. I am going to be sharing my experiences with all of you, so you can read all about me converting from café con leche to high tea at noon.
Stay tuned for my arrival in London…
