The 4-star resort is located 60-acres midway down the island chain. The main hotel has 177 guestrooms, each with wirless Internet access, large flat-panel LCD TVs and oversided tumbled marble showers and bath. Most rooms have balconies with either ocean views or direct access to the adults-only tranquility pool. The rooms are divded into six categories: Standard, Island View, Water View, Premium Lanai, Premium King and the Presidential Suite. Hawks Cay also features 250 two-and-three bedroom villas that are perfect for groups and families.

Let's get real for a quick second: part of going on vacation is eating as much food as humanly possible, and Hawks Cay goes above and beyond. The culinary experience at the hotel features flavors that are unique to South Florida and are fitting for guests of all ages. Alma is one of the signature restaurants that features Nuevo Latino cusinie, and I can attest they have a paella that is to die for. Angler & Ale is a newly opened marina restaurant that serves fresh seafood. Ocean is open for breakfast and features an à la carte menu along with a buffett. Beach Grill is around the Resort Pool and Saltwater Lagoon and has fresh seafood, sanwiches and salads. Tiki Bar is also located at the Resort Pool and allows guest to sip on an island cocktail with casual dining.

For those who are looking for adventure, Hawks Cay has a ton of different options. The resort offers guests access to amazing diving, snorkeling as well as kiteboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, Jet Ski tours and SNUBA. Other activies are Segway tours, sunset cruises and parasailing. And something that is great for both kids and adults: a Dolphin Connection. Hawks Cay has four Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins where guests can interact and swim with them. It is the only facility in the mainland U.S. that offers free public viewing of trained dolphins.
