I’m currently making a lot of lifestyle changes: eating healthy, exercising, quitting smoking, attending college and developing a music career. I’m troubled, though, because many of the friends I’ve had for years are still drinking, smoking, eating junk food and lacking ambition. Worst of all, although I don’t relate to them anymore, I feel myself falling back into my old habits when I’m around them. I feel like I have outgrown our friendship, but I feel bad just cutting ties with them. Am I being big-headed?
