Summertime is here and it’s time to get away. While you may not be able to hit up Cuba like Jay-Z and Beyonce, there are other celebrity Latin American hotspots that have been a favorite for celebrities this year – and that are calling your name. Here are six beachy locales and the stars who frequent them. What’s your favorite place to get away from it all?
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Heather Graham recently showed off her rockin’ bikini bod on the beaches of this amazing city, which is also a favorite of J.Lo and Casper. Whether you’re taking in the sandy beaches, visiting local attractions like Christ the Reedemer statue, or even visiting one of the Seven Wonders of the World – Sugarloaf mountain, you’ll definitely be entertained.
Punta Mita, Mexico
Consider this a must-see, as everyone from Lady Gaga, Charlie Sheen, Kim Kardashian, Hilary Duff and more have visited this paradise, which is located about 10 miles from Puerto Vallarta. The low-key spot is perfect for relaxing and a 15-minute boat ride will take you to the Marietta Islands.
An eco-resort that is a collection of private villas and casitas in Jalisco, the once private spot on Mexico’s Virgin Coast is now open and available for all to enjoy (granted, for the right price). Tom Cruise, Madonna and Heidi Klum are all fans of the beautiful escape, which encompasses 25,000 acres surrounded by rivers, lagoons and coconut plantations.
Once a crazy spring breakers retreat, Cabo is also an amazing place to sit by the ocean and relax. Just ask Jennifer Aniston, Selena Gomez and Jessica Alba. With a ton of water activities, private cabanas, luxurious hotels, seaside pools and more, there’s something for everyone.
Pinones, Puerto Rico
While filming a movie, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner and their adorable little family got to hang out and enjoy the water of Pinones, a tropical getaway perfect for families and couples alike.
Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus loved watching the sunset on the beaches of Costa Rica, and we’re sure you will too. Coupled with amazing architecture, history and food, the country should definitely make your must-visit list.
