Apple iPad Mini Debuts

Apple's iPads have a new "sibling": The iPad mini, which will release on November 2 and cost $329, is as light as a pad of paper and fits in the palm of your hand at 7.9 inches, reports the Los Angeles Times

The debut was given at an invitation-only media event on Tuesday. Rumors have been around for months, with new tablets like the Kindle Fire HD and the Google Nexus becoming more and more desirable with lower prices and a smaller build than traditional iPads. And now, the iPad mini a reality.

The device will be available for pre-order on Friday.

"In our view, the iPad mini stands to target price-sensitive users and the e-reader crowd," JPMorgan analyst Mark Moskowitz wrote in a note to investors ahead of the media event. "Given the global economic uncertainty, we think price-sensitive users could gravitate toward an iPad mini instead of making a PC purchase."

Will you be getting (or giving) an iPad mini?
