While addressing a room of 600 Iowa Republicans on Friday, Sen. Ted Cruz claimed that the recent government shutdown was worth it.
According to the Associated Press, the Texas Senator said that his key role in the partial shutdown was certainly a success.
"One of the things we accomplished in the fight over Obamacare is we elevated the national debate over what a disaster, what a train wreck, how much Obamacare is hurting millions of Americans across this country," Cruz said.
Last month, Cruz held a marathon speech against Obamacare right before the partial shutdown took place. And while Obamacare is still being pushed along, the 42-year-old Senator said he would most likely still try to defund the program in the future.
"There will be plenty of time the coming months to talk about specific tactics and strategies," he declared. "What I think is critical is we keep the focus on Obamacare, we keep the focus on the fact that this bill isn't working."
