Sen. Ted Cruz finally wrapped up his all-night marathon speech about the need to defund Obamacare at noon on Wednesday, after more than 21 hours on the Senate floor, which even included a reading of Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham.
"Obamacare isn't working," he said. "There are politicians in this body who are not listening to the people."
Cruz, who began his speech on Tuesday at approximately 2:41 p.m, had declared that he intended to speak in opposition of Obamacare until he could no longer stand.
Throughout the night, the Texas Senator spoke on everything from the American revolution and the Washington establishment to his Cuban-born father and the impact of the health care law.
"This was all about elevating the debate in the public and giving the American people the chance to speak," Cruz told ABC News following the conclusion of his speech. "At this point, the debate is in the hands of the American people."
