If Ted Cruz were president he would send federal law enforcement agents to actively search for undocumented immigrants to deport.

That’s what the Republican presidential candidate told Fox News host Bill O’Reilly on Monday.

"That's what [Immigrations and Customs Enforcement] exists for. We have law enforcement that looks for people who are violating the laws that apprehends and deports them,” the Texas senator said.

But O'Reilly wanted to know if Cruz would actually "go look for them," undocumented immigrants. To find out, the conservative host created a hypothetical scenario and asked what Cruz, if president, would do.

The situation: An undocumented father who "overstays his visa — and he's got a couple of kids." Would Cruz "send the feds to his house, take him out and put him back on a plane?"

The part-Cuban candidate responded: "You better believe it."

Cruz’s answer contradicts remarks he made just last month. "I don't intend to send jackboots to knock on your door and every door in America. That's not how we enforce the law for any crime," Cruz told CNN in January, in contrast to Donald Trump, who at the time said he'd establish a "deportation force" as president.

If there’s anything that’s been consistent in Cruz’s campaign, it’s his ability to flip-flop on almost any issue.
