Last week, Val Kilmer told the Associated Press that he is seriously considering running for Governor of New Mexico in 2010. Current Governor Bill Richardson's second term will end then and he is forbidden by New Mexico law to run again.
Kilmer was born in Los Angeles but has been living in New Mexico for over 20 years. He is a registered Democrat, and cast an absentee ballot for President Barack Obama while he was recently filming in Bulgaria. New Mexico was a key swing state in the recent presidential election and the Latino vote made a huge impact.
