Cecilia Munoz, the Director of Domestic Policy at the White House, opened the policy speech by talking about education and student loans.

A medical report done by the family physician of George Zimmerman, the man who fatally shot Trayvon Martin, shows that Zimmerman suffered from a broken nose, a pair of black eyes, two lacerations to the back of his head and a minor back injury the day after the incident, reports ABC News.

The Social Security Administration released the list of popular names for newborns in 2011, and Jacob (meaning “to follow”) leads the name list as the number one name for boys for the 13^th year in a row. Sophia was the popular pick for girls, nabbing the number one spot.

Parts of the U.S. will get a treat this weekend. On Sunday, May 20, a solar eclipse will blot out part of the sun (up to 94 percent!), causing the sun to appear as a thin ring behind the moon. This will be visible to the western states, appearing to northern California first and then making its way across to the Texas panhandle.
