Well, this is a faulty comparison. Last week, Texas Congressman Mike Conaway likened Russia's hacking to former Mexican president Vicente Fernández singing a pro-Hillary Clinton corrido.

Here’s how the Republican attempts to make sense of this wild comparison: “Soap opera stars, singers and entertainers ... are foreign actors, foreign people, influencing the vote in Nevada," he told the Dallas Morning News. "You don’t hear the Democrats screaming and saying one word about that.”

When asked if songs from “foreign actors,” like Fernández's corrido for Clinton, are the same as foreign officials, like the Russian government, hacking U.S. intelligence, Conaway said: “Sure it is, it’s foreign influence. If we’re worried about foreign influence, let’s have the whole story.”

Yeah, that didn’t make sense to us, either.
