#MexicoCityPolicy: Donald Trump Reinstates Anti-Abortion Rule on Foreign Aid

The GOP-led house passed a bill that will stop federal funding for abortion permanently, according to Kiro 7. In a 238-183 vote, the legislation will block tax credits for some people and businesses buying abortion coverage under Obamacare.

Republicans are not playing any games after just being in office since Jan. 20. The new government has been moving very quickly to push anti-abortion laws through since it's more likely to pass under President Donald Trump. Before it makes it to him, it needs to get 60 votes in the Senate.

"Pro-life Americans struggle for the day when abortion violence will be replaced by compassion and empathy for women and respect for weak and vulnerable children in the womb," Rep. Christopher Smith, who sponsored the original bill, said.

If the bill is signed into law then it will permanently ban the use of federal money for almost all abortions.

"This bill is about taking women who can't afford an abortion, and not allowing them to use taxpayer money to get it," Rep. Steve Cohen, said.

Trump has already put back in place a ban providing federal money to international groups that perform abortions or provide information about them.

We will have to keep a close on this bill and hope that it doesn't pass.
