1. Donald Trump has officially secured the presidency by gaining the vote of more than the necessary 270 electors on Monday night. Though many attempted to reverse the results of the Electoral College, Trump won 30 states, and even those who had previously voted for Hillary Clinton changed their ballots to entirely different politicians. 2. At least 12 are dead and 48 injured after a truck barreled through a Christmas market in Berlin on Monday. The black truck reportedly had Polish license plates. Though not yet confirmed, U.S. National Security Council spokesman Ned Price said the incident "appears to be a terrorist attack." (NPR)

3. Russia's ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov was shot dead on camera at a photo exhibition. The gunman yelled, "Don't forget Aleppo, don't forget Syria" during the shooting. (ABC News)
