CNN political commentator Scottie Nell Hughes made a really offensive remark about Tim Kaine’s Spanish-language speech.
Hughes, whose an avid Donald Trump supporter, criticized Hillary Clinton's running mate for reciting his speech at a Florida rally in Spanish, oddly referencing Dora the Explorer in her rant.
“I didn’t have to get a translator for anything that was going on at the RNC this week,” she said. “And I'm hoping I'm not going to have to start kind of brushing up on my ‘Dora the Explorer’ to understand some of the speeches given this week.”
Of course, the internet exploded with tweets from both Trump and Clinton supporters, saying that the reference to the Latina cartoon character was tasteless.
At some point even the bizarrely run Trump campaign is going to tell Scottie Hughes "just stop 'helping.'" What a moron. #DoraTheExplorer

On top of the crude remark, she praised Trump for always speaking English during his appearances.
“I appreciate him having multi-cultural and speaking Spanish,” she said. “I think that's a great idea … But what Mr. Trump did, he spoke in a language that all Americans can understand. That is English and that is one good thing.”
Hughes has apologized on Twitter for the offensive remark.
I never meant 2 cause hurt rather attempt 2 reference a cute tool I learned/taught Spanish 2 my own children obviously failed. I was wrong
