During last Thursday’s address on Capitol Hill, Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York added that “keeping the status quo is not a very good argument, given what happened" in Boston. According to Fox News Latino, the senator also said that critics of the comprehensive bipartisan immigration legislation are using the recent bombings to oppose a proposal they disliked from the start and that if they have suggestions on how to improve it, to speak up.

In an interview with Fox News Latino, Mark Krikorian (the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies) said the immigration status of the two suspects in the bombings may not have “direct” impact on the effort to overhaul the system, but it will likely have some effect.

AP Politics tweeted a bit ago that 19-year-old Dzhokhar will not be tried as an enemy combatant, per the White House.
