While Eva Longoria Parker and Benicio del Toro try reverse psychology by telling people not to vote (see the video below), Jessica Alba is resorting to fear tactics.

The normally gorgeous actress went downright ugly—and scary—in a new ad for Declare Yourself's "Silence Yourself" campaign, appearing sans make-up and wearing Hannibal Lecter's mask in an effort to send a message about the dangers of not registering to vote.

UPDATE: A revised version of the Bailout bill was passed by the Senate on Wednesday evening and by the House Friday afternoon. President Bush signed the bill into law almost as soon as it was passed.

Latino Politician Resigns Over Racist Remarks

Embattled Republican politician Fernando de Baca resigned yesterday amid allegations that he had injected racial politics and bigotry into the current presidential election. De Baca, chairman of the Republican Party in Bernalillo County, New Mexico was quoted on the BBC Blog Talking America as saying Hispanics "won't vote for a Black president".

Inman Morales had a history of mental health problems. His mother, Olga Negron, was scared for his life when she called 911, saying her son was threatening to hurt himself and had stopped taking his medication. Unfortunately, the intervention of the police had catastrophic consequences.

In This Corner: Hillary Clinton vs. Sarah Palin

It was the VP selection that rocked this country’s presidential race. John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate definitely shook things up. Perhaps it was a decision made to draw Clinton supporters away from Obama’s camp, or maybe McCain chose her to energize the traditionally more conservative base of the Republican party. Who knows?
