Here’s a disheartening update to the Jumpolin story. Earlier this year, an immigrant couple from Mexico had their East Austin piñata store bulldozed to make way for a SXSW party. Well, the Austin Chronicle reports that Jumpolin’s former location has been leased to a new enterprise called the Blue Cat Café. The café made local headlines after the owner began a fundraising campaign to get her business plan off the ground: an establishment where patrons can visit with Humane Society cats as they drink coffee and dine at food trucks.
