In a new Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) PSA campaign, Mario Lopez and Naya Rivera speak out against bullying gay and transgender youth. The Mexican American actor and Puerto Rican actress join a diverse group of celebrities in the campaign titled Amplify Your Voice!
The campaign, which was produced by GLAAD and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), was launched this week and debuted on EOnline. In addition to the PSAs, the two organizations also created anti-bullying resource kits, to be distributed to schools in the U.S.
“We’ve all been hurt by words before so before you speak,” 24-year-old Rivera says in one of the videos. “Think about how your words might affect someone else.” It’s great to see Rivera be a part of this campaign – we’re sure her character on Fox’s hit show Glee would appreciate it. Rivera plays Santana Lopez, who is gay.
