Hoping to end stigma around abortion, many Twitter users opened up about their personal experiences with the procedure over the weekend.
The hashtag, #ShoutYourAbortion, was started on Saturday by activists Lindy West and Amelia Bonow in response to the House of Representatives 241-187 vote to suspend federal funding for Planned Parenthood.
"The campaign to defund PP ‘relies on the assumption that abortion is to be whispered about," West tweeted, inspiring people countrywide to "shout their abortion" stories.

I was 20. Among other things, the dysphoria surrounding a pregnancy as a transperson would have been a lot to cope with. #ShoutYourAbortion

I've never wanted to have children, so I had an abortion. I'm thriving, without guilt, without shame, without apologies. #ShoutYourAbortion
