After months of speculation, and on the heels of his decision to pardon immigrant-targeting former sheriff Joseph Arpaio, President Trump will be putting an end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (aka DACA). An official announcement is expected today.

Under DACA, undocumented immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as children (“Dreamers”) were able to obtain work permits. This decision could be devastating for the 800,000 people who are currently benefiting from the program, and naturally people are enraged. Lauren Jauregui, whose parents emigrated to the U.S. from Cuba is one of them.

Yesterday the singer Tweeted at the President to make her “disgust” known.

There will likely be a six-month delay on the decision, which would allow Congress an opportunity to work out what comes next, but whatever happens, people’s lives will be irrevocably changed.
