5 Men From Argentina Were Killed During the New York City Terrorist Attack


In what seemed to be a beautiful fall afternoon on Halloween, turned into a tragic one after a terrorist attack in Manhattan that left eight people dead and 11 others injured. Within the attack that has since been labelled as an “attack of terror”, the victims were along a bike path when a rental truck plowed into pedestrians.

Among the victims of Tuesday attack were a group of friends from Argentina, who had been in the city reuniting for a high school reunion.  The longtime friends left the South American country as a group of eight, as part of a vacation to reunite with each other. The men were coming together for their 30th graduation in anniversary from Colegio Politecnico de Rosario in 1987.

The pals were biking near the World Trade Center at the time of the attack. Five of the eight men were killed as a result of the terrorist attack.

According to CNN, the five victims were Hernan Fiego Mendoza, Diego Enrique Angelini, Alejandro Damian Paganucco, Ariel Erlij and Hernan Ferruchi

Martin Ludovico Marro, who had also been a part of the trip was injured in the attack. He is recovering at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. 

The Argentine government has released a statement on Twitter following the attack, expressing their deepest condolences. "We regret the death of Argentine citizens in the attack in New York. @ARGenNewYork working on identifying the victims". Our thoughts and condolences are with all who were affected by this tragedy and their families.
