For many young undocumented immigrants, college is a pipe dream -- not because they lack the grades or the ambitions, but because they can’t afford the cost of paying out-of-state tuition.
However, lawmakers are now taking steps to make it easier for students who lack immigration status to attend in-state universities. In the last year, New Jersey and three other states passed statutes that will allow students who came to the U.S. as minors to pay in-state tuition.

Marlise Munoz, the 33-year-old pregnant Texas woman who was brain dead, has been removed from life support.
According to People, John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth disconnected Marlise's body at approximately 11:30 a.m. central time on Sunday, per a judge's order. The judge ruled on Friday that the hospital was misapplying state law to disregard her family's wishes.

Roughly 44 percent of Latino men are arrested at least once on non-traffic-related crimes by the time they turn 23, according to a new study.
The reasons for the arrests – which can have long-term consequences when searching for jobs and applying for school and housing – ranged from underage drinking to violent assaults.
The study also found that nearly 50 percent of black men and 40 percent of white men are arrested by the time they are 23.
