Latino Soldier Gets Dream Wedding

A Marine who suffered severe injuries in Afghanistan was treated to a beautiful wedding by his adopted Californian hometown.

After Juan Dominguez lost both his legs and right arm from an explosive device in Afghanistan, he met aspiring graphic designer Alexis while he was an outpatient at the U.S. Naval Medical Center in San Diego.

In an interview with, Dominguez said he thought Alexis was cute, “so I kind of dumped my girlfriend at the time and asked her out.”

The recovering Marine flew Alexis to Washington, D.C. to watch him race in the Marine Corps marathon. “She thought I was crazy for flying her out there,” he added.

Both Dominguez and his love later attended the Marine Corps Ball in the small town of Temecula, California – where they eventually decided to settle down.

When news spread that the two would tie the knot on April 28, the residents of Temecula teamed up to donate goods and services to support the happy couple. The services donated totaled up to about $30,000, Fox News Latino reports.
