Latino Named World’s Oldest Living Man at 112

Two years later, he landed in the United States by way of Ellis Island. For years, he worked as a coal miner in Kentucky, and ended up settling in the Niagara Falls region of western New York, right outside of Buffalo.

Sanchez-Blazquez married wife Pearl back in 1934 and together they had two children (76-year-old John and 69-year-old daughter Irene). From there came seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Sanchez-Blazquez’s wife passed away in 1988, and he moved to a nursing home in 2007.

"We did our best," Sanchez-Blazquez’s daughter Irene said. "We weren't going to put him somewhere just because he was old."
